Please leave the saniderm/second skin on for 4-5 days.
During this time, there will be weeping/watery discharge trapped inside the bandage that looks like brownish/blackish water. This is normal, please leave that in there.
When it is time to remove the bandage, please do so in the shower. A dry removal can result in scabs being lifted prematurely and the ink may not stay well in those areas. The second skin is water resistant.
You can shower as you normally would with it on, but it is not advised to take a bath or go swimming or any other activity where the bandage will be submerged completely in water.
Leave your bandage on for 1 hour. After bandage removal, you may wash any excess blood or plasma with unscented soap and warm water. Apply a thin layer of A&D ointment or Aquaphor.
Your tattoo will take roughly 2 weeks to heal. During this time, avoid excessive sun exposure and any soaking in water. This means no laying out in the sun, tanning, swimming, sauna, hot tub etc. Showering is okay, just make sure you're not violently scrubbing your new tattoo. Make sure to keep your new tattoo clean with soap and water.
Apply a thin layer of A&D ointment or Aquaphor twice a day. Unscented lotion is okay too.
Repeat this process for a two weeks. It will peel like a sunburn after a few days. Your tattoo will itch, that's normal but DO NOT SCRATCH your healing tattoo. (It is totally normal to see colored flakes of skin shedding) If it does scab in a few areas this is nothing to worry about, just let them fall off on their own. DO NOT SCRATCH OR PICK AT THEM and do NOT over-saturate in the shower. This could soften them up too much and cause them to come off prematurely which will leave blank spots that will need touching up.
First touch up is free within a year of the initial tattoo day.

I do most of my drawing the night before the appointment. When you arrive to your appointment, I will have the drawing ready.
